Amazing Face-Paintings Transform Models Into The 2D Works Of Famous Artists By Dorothy Tan, 22 Nov 2013 COMMENT SHARE Share on facebook Share on twitter Share on pinterest_share 95 Incredibly talented Russian make-up artist Valeriya Kutsan’s latest project—titled “2D Or Not 2D”—involves transforming the three-dimensional faces of models into the two-dimensional paintings of famous 20th century artists. In collaboration with photographer Alexander Khoklov and expert photo editor Veronica Ershova, she recreated well-known artworks from artistic legends such as Mondrian and Lichtenstein on the faces of her subjects. Kutsan’s skillfully handled make-up brushes produced images that straddle the second and third dimensions—in some cases, the models look more like flat, illustrated versions of themselves instead of living flesh-and-blood. View more of the make-up artist’s exceptional work on her website and watch a trailer for the 2D Or Not 2D project below.
